Salvage is a clothing and home brand that upcycles and repurposes existing garments and fabric scraps to create new, one of a kind pieces.
My goal is to help reduce waste in the fashion industry while creating unique pieces with value that no one else has.
I take anything from worn clothes you’d otherwise throw out to garments or items with sentimental value and create something completely new and unique.
Garments and other things we own can be sentimental and have their own histories. I am aiming to maintain these histories and memories and bring them into the present - updated, amplified and one of a kind.

The fast pace of the fashion industry produces new trends that make our perfectly functional clothes feel old and undesirable. These pieces are usually made poorly and often fall apart, making it easier to just toss them and buy new. But this creates an enormous amount of waste, millions of tons of clothing piling up in landfills all around the world. The fashion industry is responsible for about 4% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions, slowly contributing to global climate change. It may not be the leading cause of pollution in the world, but it is one that we can reduce!
It’s time to do our part in saving the planet, any way we can!
We are all guilty of buying mass produced merchandise and end up with it sitting in our closets or in the trash. Instead of throwing them away, decide to UPCYCLE them and turn your "fashion waste" into something special and meaningful.
To keep your things from ending up as waste, even if you donate (see Donations tab), and to stop the vicious cycle of buying and throwing out clothes, updated with the latest trends and have a unique piece that no one else has.
Upcycling instead of buying new not only reduces your personal waste, but it also puts less demand on mass production which means less waste from the big companies.
up·cy·cle
/ˈəpˌsīkəl/
verb
gerund or present participle: upcycling
1. reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original.
Upcycling is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products perceived to be of greater quality, such as artistic value or environmental value, prolonging the life of the original material.
All of our packaging is sustainable as well. I use noissue, which is a custom packaging service that uses acid free paper, soy-based inks and recycled plastics. Salvage has helped plant a tree in Kenya!
Noissue's Eco-Packaging Alliance is a great way to contribute to global reforestation. For every order they receive, they plant trees for you in areas of need, and give you access to a badge to promote your eco-goodness.
